Building Your Child's Skills and Confidence with Care!
Therapy in Action...not interested in being the Biggest, just the Best!
Therapy in Action provides Occupational and Physical Therapy services for children from birth to 18 years of age. Services include assessment, treatment, home, and school consultation. Individual therapy is provided by a registered/licensed therapist. We do not utilize aides, assistants or developmental specialists. Our therapists are graduates of accredited university programs and have fulfilled all the requirements for national registration and state licensure. Our therapists also have extensive post-graduate training in pediatrics including specialties such as certifications in neuro-developmental treatment, sensory integration and feeding.
Individual comprehensive assessments are provided based on each child's needs. The child is evaluated using standardized assessments and clinical observations. Also included are questionnaires and interviews with caregivers and other professionals. The information is synthesized to identify the child's strengths and weaknesses to determine the need for therapeutic intervention and to develop a treatment plan.
Therapy is based on the philosophy that children learn best by being actively involved. Therapists create the "just-right" challenge using purposeful, fun and goal-directed activities designed to facilitate the child's growth and development.
Family Education and Consultation
Family members and caregivers are encouraged to be actively involved in treatment planning, goal setting, and direct therapy. Therapists work with the family and care-givers to develop ways of incorporating treatment strategies into daily routines in the home or at school. In order to insure an integrated treatment plan, therapists consult with other therapists, teachers, physicians and psychologists.
