Early Intervention Group - Babies 9 - 18 months

This group is for babies/toddlers who have some delays in motor skills such as crawling, walking, or picking up tiny things with the fingers. This group:

  • uses a “Mommy and Me” style with parent
  • education and fun as the most important components.
  • is conducted by occupational therapists with support and guest
  • lectures by physical therapists and speech therapists.
  • focuses on techniques and activities to enhance a wide range of skills in which occupational therapists, physical therapists and speech therapists have expertise.

The Environment

mobility, but they are building blocks for other skills. Facilitate your child’s gross motor skills through the right stages.

Fine Motor

There are ways to encourage the fine motor skills that form the basis for preschool and kindergarten without making common mistakes such as encouraging writing too soon.

Play

Learn why to not “down-play” play and playfulness.

Feeding

Discover strategies for teaching your child to manage food safely and that eating is enjoyable.

Language and Communication

Explore ways to develop communication skills long before a child starts talking..
